this card are battling or have lost the fight against histiocytosis.
Histiocytosis is a rare blood disease that can be deadly or cause
life-long disabilities. Patients are often treated with chemotherapy,
radiation, and bone marrow transplant. There is no known cure, and the recurrence rate
is high. This disease affects all races and age groups, but is
especially prevalent in children under 10 years old.
Proceeds from the sale of this card directly benefit histiocytosis
research undertaken through the Histiocytosis Association of America (www.histio.org)
and the Texas Children's Cancer Center.
